Program Milestones
The development of the Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering Study Program at Universitas Indonesia has progressed gradually, from an academic initiative within the Department of Mechanical Engineering FTUI into a study program with both national and international recognition. Its major milestones are summarized in the following timeline.
1975
The Naval Architecture Cabinet was initiated by Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Nakoela Soenarta, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, FTUI at that time. After being formed, the Naval Architecture Cabinet was first chaired by Dipl.-Ing. Triwitono.
2001
The Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering Study Program was established under the Department of Mechanical Engineering, FTUI and opened its first student admissions.
2015
The program obtained an A accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). National accreditation is now administered by LAM Teknik.
2017
The program obtained ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) certification.
2021
The program obtained international accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).
2023
The program opened the international class and implemented a double degree program with overseas partner campuses.
